    Total: $80.15

Step 1: Hinge frames

Tools and Supplies:

  1. Drill with proper drill bit and screw driver
  2. Two 10"x13" frames (one with the glazing points pulled out)
  3. One Hinge at 1 1/16"x 12"

Instructions:

  1. Drill your holes with the drill bit
  2. Screw in your screws with the screw driver bit

End of Step One

  1. You should have the two frames connected with the hinge so the hinge faces the inside of the teleprompter

Step 2: Brace Corner Angles

Tools and Supplies:

  1. Drill with proper drill bit and screw driver

  2. Corner Braces 2"x 3/8"

Instructions:

  1. The bracket should be aliened so that only three of the four holes are actually screwed in.  This creates an angle lesser than 90  and closer to 45 degrees.

  2. The bottom frame should be the one without the glazing points in it.  The bottom frame also gets two screws while the top frame only has one.

  3. Drill your holes with the drill bit

  4. Screw in your screws with the screw driver bit on both

End of Step Two

  1. You should have both corner brackets in place so the angle is set.

Step 3: Install Mirror

Tools and Supplies:

  1. Teleprompter glass from: TeleprompterMirrors.com

Instructions:

  1. Insert the glass into the top frame
  2. Pull the glazing points down to secure the glass in place

End of Step Three

  1. You should have the glass securely placed in the Teleprompter frame

Step 4: Build Shroud

Tools and Supplies:

  1. A dark sheet or like material to block out light
  2. Scissors
  3. Template

Instructions:

  1. Spread out the fabric
  2. Lay out the template over the fabric
  3. Cut out the material (does not need to be perfect)
  4. If you want you can add a small piece of elastic in the middle of the bottom to allow the material to stretch over your lens
  5. If you know how to sew you can get the bottom edge to have that half circle in it to allow for the lens but that is not necessary for the function

End of Step Four

  1. You should have one piece of fabric cut to size to make a useable shroud

Step 5: Attach Shroud to Frame

Tools and Supplies:

  1. Shroud
  2. Thumb Tacks

Instructions:

  1. Fold over the top edge of the fabric and secure the corner of the mirrored frame with a thumb tack
  2. Add a tack to the top center and the other corner
  3. Repeat for each side
  4. On the bottom you have to connect the two bottom edges of the fabric in the middle and tack those two together in the middle (image #4)

End of Step Five

  1. You should have the shroud securely attached to the frame

Step 6: Apply Velcro

Tools and Supplies:

  1. Velcro

Instructions:

  1. Place the Velcro on the frame first.
  2. Be careful not to place the Velcro where your monitor buttons will be under the frame (location of the buttons vary with monitor)
  3. For my example I was able to place one strip along the back edge and I had to split the front into two to fit around my buttons (image #1)
  4. Stick The teleprompter and the LCD monitor together

End of Step Six

  1. You should have the shroud securely attached to the frame

Step 7: Fasten Cloth

Tools and Supplies:

  1. Safety Pins

Instructions:

  1. Safety pin the back flap of the shroud together to fit your camera lens

End of Step Seven

Step 8: Tighten Cloth

Tools and Supplies:

  1. Tape (any kind)

Instructions:

  1. to make the shroud tight pull it back and tape it to your camera
  2. You can put the tape anywhere you want as long as the shroud is pulled tight

End of Step Eight

  1. You should have a tight Shroud

Step 9: Use Teleprompter

Tools and Supplies:

  1. LCD
  2. PC or Mac
  3. Table

Instructions:

  1. Lay LCD flat on the table
  2. Connect it to your PC or Mac
